A small farm with big horns 78 miles east of Dallas.

Orange Cat Cattle Company began with a familiar retirement dream of owning acreage and a less familiar realization that the meadow needed some Texas Longhorns. Soon after purchasing property in East Texas, we began attending longhorn auctions and talking with experienced breeders.

In January 2018 we purchased a heifer calf and two cows, one of which was pregnant. A tabby cat showed up in the barn around the same time and has maintained a comfortable respect for the cattle in the years since.

Orange Cat Cattle today is a 10-cow operation, give or take. The farm focuses on the highest standards for breeding, thanks to the luck of acquiring a heifer with an impressive pedigree. At 5 years old, Fiona serves as the center of the program, with an easy disposition and horns that span 85 inches and counting.

Orange Cat Cattle operates with short-term bull leasing and leading-edge artificial insemination technology nearby. The farm continues to grow its line with the best bulls in the industry.
